Softball:
Twenty-seven days ago, Upland handed Etiwanda its first loss (4-1) in Baseline League play.
Fast forward to Thursday, and the Eagles got payback in a big way.
EHS dominated first-place UHS, 14-4, in six innings.
It was the Highlanders first Baseline League setback.
With three games to play, Etiwanda trails second-place Chino Hills by one game, and they get the Huskies next Wednesday.
Alyssa Galindo went three innings, and she allowed one run on two hits.
Galindo didn’t issue a walk and struck out five Upland batters.
Cameryn Ortega was charged with three runs on three hits over three innings.
Ortega walked a pair and fanned three.
Phebe Rodriguez hit a solo HR.
Perseus Yanez doubled and scored.
Analise Reyes got the loss after allowing 11 runs (seven earned) on nine hits over five innings.
Reyes walked two and fanned four EHS batters.
Charlotte Baum hit a grand slam and finished with five RBIs.
Brianna Gutierrez doubled, homered, scored twice and drove in three.
Taylor Wren had a pair of doubles and three RBIs.
Kimmy Aleman drew a pair of walks, singled and scored two runs.
Karrington Bennett went 2-for-3, with three runs and an RBI.
Frankie Nevarez singled and scored.
Ava Reyes doubled, drove in two and scored a pair of runs.
Alyssa Galindo singled and doubled.
