Softball:
Glendora enjoyed a 6-0 lead as Wednesday’s Palomares League showdown at Alta Loma entered the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Braves would score four runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh, but the Tartans would hold on for an 8-6 victory.
Donica Meyndert got the loss after going four innings and allowing five runs (three earned) on eight hits.
Meyndert walked two and fanned five GHS batters.
Peyton Reel was charged with three runs (one earned) on four hits over her three innings.
Reel didn’t issue a walk and she struck out three.
Samantha Meyer went 2-for-4, with two runs and an RBI.
Elizabeth Lusk singled and had a game-high three RBIs.
Kennedy Bowers doubled, scored and drove in a run.
Allison Waite singled and had one RBI.
Kylie Coleman walked, singled and scored.
Liliana Hawker singled twice and scored.
Jenna Cuevas went 3-for-5 and scored one run.
Gianna Messick went the distance for Glendora.
The Tartans sophomore surrendered six runs (four earned) on five hits.
Messick walked three and fanned three ALHS batters.
Alyssa Pulicari homered and drove in a pair of runs.
Samantha Vazquez doubled and scored.
Izabella Poveda was hit by pitch, singled twice, scored a pair of runs, and she drove in two.
Peyton Reel singled, doubled and finished with two RBIs.
