Softball:
San Dimas evened its Valle Vista League record at 2-2 after Friday’s 5-1 victory over Covina.
Jenna Santellan went the distance and allowed one run on seven hits.
Santellan didn’t issue a walk and struck out one.
Savanna Pacheco went 2-for-4 and scored the Colts lone run.
Isabell Ramirez singled and had one RBI.
Janelle Valenzuela doubled, while Maya Venegas, Adrianna Barrera and Lexi Sumpter had one single apiece for Covina.
Sumpter would get the loss after surrendering five runs on six hits over six innings.
Sumpter walked two and fanned a pair of SDHS batters.
Maya Medina went 2-for-4 with two HR’s and four RBIs.
Tiffany Villegas hit a solo shot for the Saints.
Jasmine Marquez had a pair of singles, and Janelle Marquez walked twice and scored two runs.
Harmony Torrez and Laila Kaitangian singled in the win.
Up next: The Saints battle Sierra Vista (6-7) on Saturday morning at 9.
The Colts travel to Diamond Ranch on Wednesday at 3:30.
