Etiwanda Cruises to a 12-4 Victory Over Rancho Cucamonga in Baseline League Opener; Eagles Out-Hit Cougars, 14-7, on Friday

Softball:

Etiwanda opened Baseline League play with a resounding 12-4 victory at Rancho Cucamonga.

The Eagles out-hit the Cougars, 14-7, and improved to 14-2.

Joss Brandl got the loss after allowing nine runs on 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings.

Brandl walked two and fanned a pair of EHS batters.

Gisselle Peraza went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and three RBIs.

Justyne Zabala singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in three.

Brianna Gutierrez doubled and had two RBIs.

Taylor Wren walked, singled, doubled and drove in one.

Ava Reyes singled and scored two runs.

Frankie Nevarez singled and scored.

Alyssa Galindo went 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Kimmy Aleman walked and had an RBI single.

Karrington Bennett walked, singled and scored three runs.

Kimmy Aleman earned the win after going the distance and allowing four runs (two earned) on eight hits.

Aleman walked one and struck out four RCHS batters.

Lauren Chappell walked, singled and scored.

Erika Zamora and Mia Diaz singled and scored one run apiece.

Jemma Wright singled, scored and drove in a run.

Up next: EHS travels to Bonita on Tuesday at 3:30.

RCHS heads to Glendora on Monday at 3:15.
