Girls Tennis:

Thanks to Maranatha for this report:

The Lady Minutemen were decided underdogs entering today’s first round playoff match against No. 6 Buckley; but that uphill climb got even steeper this morning, when they got the news that two of their starters were out sick.

Despite the news, the Lady Minutemen vowed to give the Griffins a fight; and fight they did.

Maranatha finished the first round trailing, 4-2, as No. 1 Mia Huang/Mia Su and No. 2 Esmee Eaton/Kathryn Khalil won their 1st round sets, 6-3 and 6-4, respectively.

They also provided the Lady Minutemen their two second round points, as they won their sets, 6-3 and 7-5.

The Lady Minutemen made one final push in the final round of play, with No. 3 Diana Sarksyan/Madi White and No. 1 singles, Natalie Arminak, winning their first sets of the day, 6-2 and 6-4.

Huang/Su and Eaton/Khalil contributed their dominance, winning, 6-3 and 6-4, giving each a sweep.

The Griffins move on the the 2nd round of the playoffs, while the Lady Minutemen prepare for next season.
