In spite of being 22-2-1, South Hills had to play a CIF-SS Division 1 wild card game on Tuesday.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, and with the game tied at 1-1, the Huskies scored four times and pulled away for a 6-3 victory over visiting Corona Centennial.
Audrey Gallegos went the distance and allowed three runs on five hits.
Gallegos walked two and struck out four Centennial batters.
Offensively, Joie Economides went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an HR, two runs and a pair of RBIs.
Madilyn Hernandez, pictured above, hit two solo home runs.
Faith Hernandez singled twice and scored.
Isabella Venegas walked twice and doubled.
Kayla Sigala had an RBI double.
Up next: South Hills travels to Murrieta Mesa on Thursday.
The Rams (22-3-1) enter the postseason on a nine-game win streak.
