Softball:
Bonita isn’t going to win a second consecutive Palomares League championship.
But that doesn’t mean the defending CIF-SS champs can’t make a run in the playoffs.
BHS claimed a 5-0 victory over Claremont on Thursday to improve to 9-3 in league.
Brooklyn Shroyer went the distance and was one walk and a hit from tossing a perfect game.
The BHS senior got 16 of her 21 outs via strikeout.
Kacie Gossett got the only hit of the day for the Wolfpack.
Gossett went the distance in the circle, allowing five runs (two earned) on nine hits.
She issued one walk and struck out eight Bonita batters.
Audrey Garza singled twice and scored.
Mireya Rico had two doubles, a run and two RBIs.
Camryn Van Valkenburgh went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Avery Rubalcava had an RBI single.
Bryce Shroyer singled twice and scored.
