Softball:
Sixteen days ago, in Azusa’s Montview League opener, Duarte thumped the Aztecs, 11-1.
Since then, Azusa has rattled off three consecutive league wins.
And that includes Thursday’s 7-3 victory over the Falcons.
In the process, AHS snapped Duarte’s five-game league win streak.
Juliana Canizales went the distance in the circle and allowed three unearned runs on five hits.
She walked five and fanned a pair of Falcons batters.
Crystal Moran went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Emily Ramirez and Alyssa Garcia singled and scored one run apiece.
Kiley Peinado singled and had an RBI.
Alyssa Garcia got the loss after allowing seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits.
Garcia issued three walks and fanned eight Azusa batters.
Canizales helped her own cause with a walk, single, double and scored three runs.
Alex Caballero walked, singled, doubled and had a pair of RBIs.
Natalie Sosa doubled, scored and drove in two.
Aubrey Guzman went 3-for-3 with a double, run and RBI.
Angeline Guzman had an RBI triple and scored one run.
Marissa Signs walked and scored.
Angelina Correos had a pair of singles in Thursday’s win.
