They say the true measure of one’s character is the way in which we respond to our failures.
And for Los Osos, and freshman guard Jackie Polk, they showed the mettle of a champion.
Thirteen days after Flintridge Prep put a 16-point beating on the Grizzlies in the CIF-SS Division 3AA title game, Los Osos rebounded and claimed a CIF State Division 3 championship.
LOHS defeated Colfax, 65-48, in Sacramento.
The Falcons entered the game with an incredible mark of 34-2.
In the win, Polk scored 30 of the Grizzlies 65 points.
Polk was 3-of-4 from 3-point land, and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line.
She also produced three rebounds and three assists.
Los Osos finished the 2022-23 season with a record of 29-5.
