The defending CIF-SS Division 3 champs have opened the Palomares League portion of their schedule with a record of 0-2.

One day after surrendering four runs in the bottom of the seventh at Ayala (5-4), the Bearcats visited Claremont.

She walked one and fanned three GHS batters.

Serenity Reyes walked, doubled and drove in Bonita’s run.

Kailey Scott singled and scored.

Mireya Rico and Alyssa Doucette had one single apiece to account for the rest of the BHS offense.

Brooklyn Shroyer deserved a better fate, but the Bearcats’ senior got the loss.

Shroyer went the distance, allowing two runs on five hits.

She walked one and struck out nine CHS batters.

Abby Moran went 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
