Ayala Shakes up Palomares Title Chase; GHS & Bonita Tied for First & Bulldogs Just One-Game Back After 4-Set Victory Over Bearcats

Girls Volleyball:

Ayala sure made things interesting in the Palomares League title chase.

The Bulldogs handed the Bearcats their first league setback on Friday.

Ayala won by scores of 25-20, 25-10, 18-25 and 25-10.

With three league matches to play, Glendora and Bonita share the Palomares League penthouse, while Ayala is just one-game back of the Tartans and Bearcats.

The Bulldogs leaders were:

Learden Lee, who had had 14 kills and four blocks.

Daniela Serrano contributed 10 kills and five blocks, and Olivia Mendoza chipped in with 10 kills.

Nevaeh Livingston had a big night with 14 digs, and Riley Melendez finished with eight kills.

Taylor Ojeda provided 17 digs.

For Bonita, Sarah Wilson has 12 kills and three blocks.

Ally Rohrer contributed six kills, four aces and three blocks.
