Girls Volleyball:

Haven’t played in a week? No practice on Monday? Down two sets to none?

Yes, yes, and yes.

But it was no problem for the Arcadia girls volleyball program.

The Apaches would rebound and claimed victory by scores of 17-25, 23-25, 25-21, 25-21 and 15-6.

Nicole Zhen had 15 digs and had a serve-receive of 2.8 (3.0 is perfect).

Chayse Hoon contributed 13 kills and two blocks.

Ashley Savage chipped in with 12 kills and three digs.

Zimming Wang finished with nine kills.

Megumi Green & Cindy Lu both 10 digs.

Arcadia has now won five consecutive matches.

Up next: The Apaches travel to Burroughs on Thursday to open Pacific League play.

Quotable:

Arcadia coach, Stephen Bernabe: “We got out to a slow start, had no rhythm, and yet our girls found a way to get the job done. I am very proud of their perseverance and the way in which they battled through adversity. We had contributions throughout our lineup which makes me very happy. It’s the kind of effort and experience that makes you a better team, and it will hopefully have us ready for league play on Thursday.”

Records: Maranatha (5-5); Arcadia (5-1)
