South Hills Earns Spot in CIF-SS Division 2 Quarterfinal Round After Tuesday’s 6-3 Victory Over Segerstrom

Softball:

South Hills didn’t just win their 10th consecutive game on Tuesday.

The Huskies also extended their season with a 6-3 victory over visiting Segerstrom in the second round of the CIF-SS Division 2 playoffs.

To add a little icing on the cake, SHHS defeated a Jaguars program that hadn’t lost since March 10th.

Maddy Del Real went 4 1/3 innings in the circle, and allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits.

She walked four and fanned three Segerstrom batters.

Audrey Gallegos got the final eight outs to earn the save.

Gallegos allowed one run on two hits, walked one and struck out five.

Offensively, Madilyn Hernandez singled twice and had a pair of RBIs.

Leah Morales went 4-for-4 and scored a run.

Alexus Corona singled, doubled and drove in a run.

Joie Economides doubled, scored and had two RBIs.

Kayla Sigala tripled and scored.

Up next: The Huskies will host Long Beach Millikan in Thursday’s quarterfinal round.

The Rams (20-10) edged La Habra, 6-5, on Tuesday.
