Softball:
Bonita got a solid outing from Brooklyn Shroyer and pounded out 10 hits in the Bearcats 9-2 victory over visiting El Rancho.
Shroyer went the distance in the D-3 opener and allowed two runs on five hits.
She issued just one walk and struck out 11 Dons’ batters.
Offensively, Hailey Marquez singled, doubled and drove in three runs.
Lauryn Ureno singled twice, doubled, scored twice and finished with four RBIs.
Alyssa Doucette, Kailey Scott and Aries Alonso singled and scored one run apiece.
Bryce Shroyer had an RBI double.
Kali Blount doubled and scored.
Sofia Ortiz scored a pair of runs and had one RBI.
Mireya Rico walked and scored for the Bearcats.
Up next: Bonita will travel to Kennedy on Tuesday.
The Fighting Irish (18-10) knocked off Coachella Valley, 10-0, in their first-round game.
