Glendora Picks Up 6-2 Victory at Ayala; Tartans & Bulldogs Tied for Second w/One Palomares League Game to Play

Softball:

With one game remaining in the regular season, Glendora caught Ayala for second place in the Palomares League standings.

The Tartans got five sixth-inning runs and picked up a 6-2 road victory.

Bridget Nemeth went the distance, allowing two unearned run on three hits.

Nemeth didn’t issue a walk and struck out eight Ayala batters.

Taelor Walker had an RBI single.

Madison Zaro singled, scored and had an RBI.

Tehya Banks singled and Ryanna Alano scored once for Ayala.

Karson Zavala got the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits.

Zavala went all seven innings, walked two and fanned six GHS batters.

Allison Winovitch singled twice and scored.

Ashley Hibbard went 2-for-4 and scored.

Nemeth walked, singled and scored.

Makenna Coleman walked, singled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.

Haley Ganino singled, scored and finished with two RBIs.

Ryan Speh and Elizabeth Lusk had one single apiece in the win.

If the Tartans and Bulldogs tie for second, Ayala would get the league’s No. 2 spot after winning two of three with GHS.

Up next: GHS will host Claremont on Tuesday, and Ayala heads to Colony.
