Baseball:
Etiwanda has made an early and an impressive statement in Baseline League play.
The Eagles claimed their first-round series with Damien, 2-1, last week.
And Etiwanda has won the first two games over Los Osos by a combined score of 31-2.
On Wednesday, Etiwanda got out to a 13-run lead and defeated the Grizzlies, 17-2, at LOHS.
The Eagles got five runs off Cole Monsen and Riley Lauve, four from Andrew Thornburg, and three off Greg Chodos.
Los Osos pitching walked 15 batters and struck out four.
Luke Mariscal singled, homered, scored twice and drove in three runs.
Parker Sobiesiak singled, doubled, scored two runs and had three RBIs.
Austen Roellig walked twice, singled two times and scored a pair of runs.
Brady Ebel walked three times, singled twice, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
Tyler Shigenaka walked, singled, scored and drove in three runs.
Chris Montes De Oca walked twice and scored both times.
Jaedon Toki singled, drove in two runs and scored.
Armando Briseno walked three times and scored twice.
Yahir Ramirez walked, singled and had one RBI.
Kaedon Mas walked and scored two runs.
Dylan Goff went four scoreless innings to pick up the win.
Goff allowed just one hit, walked one and struck out six LOHS batters.
Nico Neri surrendered two runs (one earned) on six hits over his three innings.
Neri didn’t issue a walk and fanned one.
Daniel Moreno went 2-for-4, with an RBI.
Noe Romero doubled and drove in a run.
Robbie Wheeler doubled and scored, and Enzo Comes singled and scored.
Tyler Mohler singled twice in Wednesday’s loss.
Up next: Etiwanda goes for the three-game sweep at home on Friday.
