Baseball:
Bonita kept its share of the Palomares League’s top spot after a dramatic 2-1 victory at Claremont in eight innings.
Aidan Ross never seems to get much run support and Tuesday was no different.
Ross got the loss, despite going 7 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on six hits.
He walked two and struck out five Bearcats’ batters.
Luke Mistone’s solo HR in the first inning gave Bonita an early 1-0 lead.
JT Fenton drew a walk in the top of the eighth inning, and he’d score the eventual game-winning run on a two-out double from Tyler Holley.
Bryan Bradshaw singled twice in Tuesday’s win.
Seth Wrightstone went the first six innings and allowed just an unearned run on five hits.
He walked two and fanned four Woldpack batters.
Garrett Patterson got the win after scoreless seventh and eighth innings.
Patterson allowed one hit, he didn’t issue a walk and struck out two.
Adrian Amezquita singled and scored on a Kenny Wang ground ball.
Kody Johnson walked twice and singled for Claremont.
