Softball:
Brooklyn Shroyer wasn’t messing around on Tuesday.
The Bonita junior was just one out from a perfect game.
Colony, however, got a two-out bloop single, but the Bearcats claimed a 3-0 victory.
Shroyer didn’t walk a batter and got 15 of her 21 outs via strikeout.
The Bearcats win, coupled with Ayala’s 5-4 victory at Glendora, means Bonita stands alone atop the Palomares League standings.
Offensively, Hailey Marquez singled, doubled and had an RBI.
Alyssa Doucette doubled and scored.
Lauryn Ureno singled and scored for the Bulldogs.
Kali Blount singled, scored and drove in a run.
Kailey Scott had one RBI.
Up next: Bonita will host Alta Loma on Thursday.
