Marshall Fundamental Improves to 5-1 in Mission Valley League; First-Place Eagles Pick Up 7-4 Victory at Mountain View

Baseball:

Marshall Fundamental moved into the Mission Valley League penthouse on Friday.

After a 7-4 victory at Mountain View, the Eagles now hold a one-half game lead on Arroyo.

Travis Delgado, Wes Pendleton and Jacob Hernandez teamed up on the mound for Marshall.

Pendleton allowed one run on one hit over three innings.

He walked two and struck out six.

Delgado went 3 1/3 innings, and he surrendered two runs on two hits.

Delgado walked three and fanned six Mountain View batters.

Marco Aguilar walked, singled twice, scored two runs and had one RBI.

Angel Alcantar singled, doubled, scored and drove in a pair of runs.

Marco Aguilar got the loss after allowing seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits.

Aguilar went the distance, walked three and fanned three Marshall batters.

Nick Chew singled and scored.

Jacob Hernandez singled and had an RBI.

Wes Pendleton walked, singled twice and scored three runs.

Devan Kelly walked, singled twice and scored twice.

Andrew Quijada had two singles and three RBIs.

Sam Karp walked and singled.

Up next: Marshall travels to Arroyo on Monday afternoon.
