Softball:
Rio Hondo Prep remained unbeaten in Prep League play on Friday.
The Kares needed just 4 1/2 innings to claim an 11-1, mercy-rule victory over their visitors from Flintridge Prep.
RHP out-hit the Wolves, 9-2, and committed four less errors (5-1) than Flintridge Prep.
Tatiana Foor went all five innings to pick up another win in the circle.
Foor allowed one first-inning run and shot the door the rest of the way.
She allowed two hits, walked one and fanned seven.
Elise Fong had an RBI double for the Wolves.
Fong also got the loss, after surrendering 11 runs (five earned) on nine hits.
She went four innings, walked one and struck out five RHP batters.
Madison Metz walk, homered twice, scored three runs and drove in three.
Elle Curtis singled, doubled, scored twice and had two RBIs.
Raegan Johnson singled twice, scored and drove in a run.
Raychel Chang singled and had one RBI.
Grace Pollock doubled and scored two runs.
Kassie Kirby singled and scored twice.
Up next: The Wolves and Kares will both be in action on Tuesday.
Flintridge Prep will travel to Mayfield, and Rio Hondo Prep will host Westridge.
