Arms of Graves & Olguin & Bats of Blessinger & Scannell Lead PCC to 7- 3 Victory Over Compton; Lancers Clinch Fifth Consecutive SCC Series

College Baseball:

PCC won its sixth consecutive game on Thursday.

The Lancers defeated visiting Compton, 7-3, behind solid outings from Ryan Graves and Benny Olguin.

PCC also clinched its fifth consecutive SCC series, which no other program in the conference has accomplished.

Ryan Graves went the first five innings and allowed just one earned run on three hits to earn the win.

Graves didn’t issue a walk and struck out seven.

Mr. Reliable, Benny Olguin, closed out the victory.

Olguin went the final four innings and allowed one run on four hits.

He didn’t walk anyone and struck out three Compton batters.

Andy Perez went 2-for-4 and scored once, and Doug Allen singled and scored

Ricky Salcido doubled and scored and Michael Heard had an RBI single.

Julian Berinti surrendered six runs (five earned) on five hits over his 5 1/ innings.

He walked two and struck out five, but was stuck with the loss.

Max Blessinger doubled twice, scored and had three RBIs from the leadoff spot.

Matthew Delgado went 2-for-4, scored and had one RBI.

Andrew Scannell’s bat remained hot on Thursday.

Scannell singled twice and scored in three at-bats.

Aryonis Harrison walked and scored two runs.

Jakob Guardado had an RBI single in the seventh inning.

Up next: PCC will travel to Compton on Saturday.
