One of the reasons that PCC has had so much success in 2022 is that throughout the season, a number of Lancers have played a starring role in victories.

And on Wednesday, it was Jakob Guardado.

Guardado went six scoreless innings and allowed just one hit in PCC’s 7-2 victory at Compton.

Guardado walked four and fanned seven Tartar batters.

But his contributions didn’t end there.

Guardado singled twice, doubled and scored two runs to help his own cause.

Rider Gardner provided one inning of relief and allowed one run on three hits.

Gardner didn’t walk a batter and struck out one.

Nicco Day closed out the win by going the eighth and ninth innings and allowing one run on two hits.

Day didn’t issue a walk and struck out three Compton batters.

Compton’s Doug Allen went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Jacob Ramirez had an RBI single.

PCC got three runs apiece off Adrian Lopez and Xavier Stewart in the first five innings, and did so on nine hits and five walks.

Max Blessinger walked three times, doubled, scored and had an RBI.

The Lancers speedster, Aryonis Harrison, had his breakout game.

Harrison went 3-for-3, with an RBI and two runs scored.
