Etiwanda Opens Baseline League Play w/3-2 Victory Over Damien; Dylan Goff Goes Distance & Strikes Out Seven

Etiwanda opened Baseline League action with an important 3-2 victory over their visitors from Damien.

Dylan Goff went the distance and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits.

Goff walked one and struck out seven.

He finished off the Spartans with 95 pitches.

Nathan Hellein and Justin Dunn singled and had one RBI apiece.

Jett Hernandez and Dominic Gomez singled and scored one run each for the Spartans.

Ryan Mullan got the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits over his five-inning outing.

Mullan didn’t issue a walk and fanned eight.

With the score tied at 1-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, freshman Brady Ebel hit a two-run HR.

Armando Briseno doubled and scored, and Tyler Shigenaka singled and scored.

Michai Harrison had an RBI single in the second inning to give Etiwanda a 1-0 lead.

Up next: The Eagles will travel to Damien on Friday and Saturday to complete their three-game series.
