College Baseball:

I’m not sure what Pam and Al Salgado are feeding their kids.

But whatever it is, it’s really paying off in a big way.

AJ and Jordan Salgado both played baseball at Glendora High School.

Jordan graduated in 2018, and his little brother was just two years behind.

AJ, a freshman at Cal State LA, and Jordan, a sophomore at Rio Hondo College, are tearing the cover off the ball.

AJ Salgado leads the Golden Eagles in batting average (.426), runs (32), hits (40), triples (4), on-base percentage (.538), slugging (.617) and stolen bases (6).

His .426 average is 89 points higher than his next closest teammate (Will Picketts).

And AJ is tied for second in RBIs with 22.

Up next: Cal State LA (11-15, 6-10) will host Chico State on Friday.

Jordan Salgado is having a tremendous 2022 season of his own.

Jordan is first in doubles (10) triples (3) stolen bases (3), and slugging percentage (.678).

He’s second in batting average (.356), home runs (4), and on-base percentage (.458).

Jordan’s 31 hits are fourth best, and his 20 RBIs is fifth amongst his Rio Hondo teammates.

Up next: Rio Hondo (15-13, 6-9) will travel to Alan Hancock on Thursday.
