Softball:
Glendora got a complete-game effort from Bridget Nemeth in Thursday’s 7-4 victory at Bonita.
With the win, the Tartans caught the Bearcats atop the Palomares League standings.
Nemeth surrendered four runs (two earned) on seven hits.
She walked two and struck out seven to pick up the win.
Nemeth needed exactly 100 pitches to finish what she started.
Alyssa Doucette went 2-for-4, and scored twice.
Kailey Scott singled, doubled and scored.
Kali Blount singled twice and scored for the Bearcats.
Brooklyn Shroyer got the loss, allowing seven runs on eight hits.
Shroyer walked two and struck out five GHS batters in her complete-game effort.
Haley Ganino hit a three-run shot in the top of the fourth to give GHS a 6-4 lead.
Ashley Hibbard singled, doubled, scored twice and had an RBI.
Makenna Coleman went 2-for-4, including an RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to extend the lead to 7-4.
Ryan Speh singled and drove in a pair of runs.
Up next: Bonita will face West Torrance and Fairfax in tournament play on Saturday, and then the Bearcats travel to Colony on Tuesday.
Glendora will host Ayala on Tuesday.
