Conrad Hunziker & Wes Pendleton’s Arms & Bats Too Much For Rosemead; Eagles Shut Out Panthers, 5-0, in MVL Contest

Baseball:

Marshall Fundamental remained just one-half game back of first-place Mountain View after Wednesday’s 5-0, MVL victory at Rosemead.

Freshman Conrad Hunziker went 5 1/3 scoreless innings to earn the win.

Hunziker allowed two hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out eight.

Wes Pendleton preserved the shutout with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless and hitless relief.

Pendleton got all five of his outs via strikeout.

Nico Banuelos got the loss, allowing three runs in four innings of work.

Banuelos surrendered just one hit, but he walked five and fanned three Marshall batters.

Hunziker & Pendleton both contributed one single and two RBIs apiece at the plate.

Jacob Hernandez singled and scored twice in Wednesday’s win.

Nick Chew doubled and scored two runs.

Up next: Marshall will travel to Pasadena High on Saturday morning for a nonleague showdown with the Bulldogs (3-12).
