Flintridge Prep Cruises to 12-2 Victory Over Poly in 5 Innings; Wolves Pick Up Three-Game, Prep League Sweep of Panthers

The only thing better than picking up a three-game sweep over your rival is to do so in convincing form.

And that’s exactly what Flintridge Prep did on Friday.

The Wolves claimed a 12-2, five-inning, mercy-rule victory over the Panthers.

In the three wins, Flintridge Prep outscored Poly by a combined margin of 28-12.

Jason Mayo got the loss.

Mayo allowed seven runs (two earned) on five hits over his three innings of work.

He walked seven and fanned three.

Of the 12 Prep runs, only two were earned, courtesy of four Panthers’ errors.

Josh Beserra hit a grand slam in the win and scored twice.

Dominick Schraeder walked three times, scored twice and had an RBI.

Spencer Seid doubled and drove in three runs.

Graham DesHotel singled, doubled twice, scored a pair of runs and had one RBI.

Nathan Park singled twice, had an RBI and scored two runs.

Nick Gonzalez walked twice and scored.

JR Kully walked three times and came around to score two times.

Seid would go all five innings to pick up the win.

He surrendered two runs on six hits.

Seid walked one and struck out 10 Poly batters.

Seid struck out eight of the Panthers’ 10 batters at least once.

Henry McDonald singled twice, doubled and scored.

Jason Mayo singled and scored.

And Sean Asperger singled and had two RBIs.

Up next: The Wolves will travel to Alhambra on Thursday.
