Glendora had a pretty satisfying Thursday.
The Tartans picked up a 5-3 victory over Alta Loma in a Palomares League showdown.
And the Tartans moved to just one-game back of first place Bonita, thanks to Ayala’s 12-2 beatdown of the Bearcats.
Samantha Meyndert went all six innings in the circle for Alta Loma.
She allowed five runs (two earned) on six hits.
Meyndert walked three and struck out four GHS batters.
Makenna Coleman had a huge day at the plate, with a two-run home run and a two-run single.
Ashley Hibbard singled twice, scored and had an RBI.
Bridget Nemeth walked twice and scored, and Allison Winovitch singled and scored.
Ashley Hibbard went 5 2/3 innings for GHS.
She allowed three runs on four hits.
Hibbard walked one and fanned six ALHS batters.
Haley Ganino got the final four outs to secure the win and struck out two.
Samantha Vasquez singled and drove in two of Alta Loma’s three runs.
Up next: The Tartans travel to Colony on Tuesday.
