Northview opened Valle Vista League play with a 6-2 victory over visiting West Covina.

The Bulldogs actually out-hit the Vikings, 8-7, but three WCHS errors resulted in three unearned runs.

Evan Buhac was stuck with the loss.

Buhac went four innings and allowed five runs (two earned) on five hits.

He walked one and struck out four NHS batters.

Dean Curley doubled and drove in a run on a sac fly.

Isaiah Cruz singled and scored.

Moses Medrano walked, doubled, scored and had two RBIs.

Steven Carlin walked, singled and scored twice.

Evan Burns singled, doubled and scored.

Ivan Barragan had an RBI on a sac fly.

Sal Batres went five innings and allowed just one run to earn the win.

Batres scattered seven hits, walked two and fanned four WCHS batters.

Kiki Villegas got the final six outs, allowing an unearned run on one hit.
