Quotable:

St. Francis coach, Aaron Dorlarque: “Senior Robby Rivera competed extremely well on the mound today and we were able to support him with a few runs. Robby set the tone for the entire team and it showed in our attitude at the plate and on defense.”

St. Francis pitcher, Robbie Rivera: “Sometimes we are going to have bad outings, but never let those outings define who you are as a pitcher. Get up, flush it and dominate your next outing and the outings after that. My catcher and I focused on establishing the inside corner, and as a result. I had a lot of weak contact and swing and misses. In order to be a successful pitcher, you need to spot up the inside pitches. I also focused on tunneling my pitches, and locating that low and away slider. Tunneling the inside fastball with a low and inside change up and the outside fastball with a slider low and away. The high fastball played a role as well with a few strike outs. My mindset before I finished the game was to go all the way. But i tried to focus one inning at a time and tried to be as efficient as I could be. And it resulted in me going all seven innings.”
