Matt Romero Throws 2-Hit Shutout in San Dimas’ 2-0 Victory at Charter Oak; Saints Lefty Needed Just 69 Pitches in VVL Opener

Baseball:

San Dimas opened Valle Vista League play with an impressive 2-0 victory at Charter Oak.

And SDHS senior, Matt Romero, controlled the game throughout.

Romero threw a two-hit shutout, didn’t walk anyone and struck out four COHS batters.

He was efficient as well, needing just 69 pitches to finish what he started.

Dave Montoya singled twice to account for the Chargers offense.

Evan Avitia had a solid outing of his own.

Avitia went 6 1/3 innings and allowed two runs on seven hits.

He walked two and struck out a pair of Saints’ batters.

Diego Ortiz got the final two outs of Wednesday’s contest.

Landon White went 3-for-3, with a double and both SDHS RBIs.

Kasen Khansarinia singled and scored.

Tyler Pardus walked, singled and scored.

Rocco Regan and Robert Castillo had one hit apiece in the win.
