Granados, Zaragoza & Curley Team up on Mound in Northview’s 3-2 Victory Over Roosevelt; Medrano Hit 2-Run Blast for Vikings

Baseball:

Northview got one final tune-up before it begins Valle Vista League play next week.

The Vikings defeated visiting Eleanor Roosevelt, 3-2, on Friday.

Hunter Billingsley got the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits.

Billingsley went five innings, walking three and striking out two Northview batters.

Moses Medrano hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the third inning.

Dean Curley walked and scored on Ivan Barragan’s RBI single to give NHS a 3-0 lead.

Andrew Granados went 5 1/3 innings to earn the win.

Granados surrendered two runs on four hits, walked one and struck out four Roosevelt batters.

Gio Zaragoza and Dean Curley teamed up to go the final 1 2/3 scoreless innings to secure the win.

Curley earned the save, after getting two of his three outs via strikeout.

Patrick Fregoso doubled, scored and drove in a run.

Preston Allen singled and scored.

And Billingsley had an RBI double in the loss.

Up next: NHS hosts WCHS in Wednesday’s VVL opener.
