Anthony Vasquez Goes 6 2/3 Scoreless Innings, as COHS Defeats RCHS, 3-0, on Friday; Chargers on 5-Game Win Streak

Baseball:

Make it five wins in a row for Charter Oak.

The Chargers picked up a 3-0 road victory at Rancho Cucamonga.

Anthony Vazquez went 6 2/3 scoreless innings to get the win.

Vasquez scattered three hits, walked two and struck out eight Cougars’ batters.

Diego Ortiz got the final out to secure the victory.

Jacob McCombs singled and tripled, and Owen Dunn singled to account for the RCHS offense.

Dylan Escobar got the loss after allowing three runs on four hits over his 5 1/3 innings.

He walked three and struck out one COHS batter.

Vazquez went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.

Ortiz walked and had two singles.

Alek Gavaghan walked, singled and drove in a run.

Evan Avitia walked, singled and scored in the win.

Up next: COHS will host San Dimas in Wednesday’s VVL opener.
