Brandon Cho Goes Distance, Allowing Unearned Run, While Striking Out 5 in La Canada’s 5-1 Victory at South Pasadena

Baseball:

La Canada won its seventh consecutive game to start the 2022 season.

The Spartans rode the arm of Brandon Cho to a 5-1 victory over South Pasadena in a Rio Hondo League showdown.

Cho went the distance, allowing just an unearned run on six hits.

He walked one and struck out five SPHS batters to earn the win.

Jack Riffle scored the Tigers only run of the game in the third inning.

Jason Yipp, Ovy Garcia, Ivan Becerra, DJ Pearson, Devin Robinson and Joe Kazarian had one single apiece to account for the South Pasadena offense.

Alex Hodis got the loss, surrendering five runs on five hits.

Hodis walked three and struck out four in his complete-game outing.

Ryan Kiessling singled twice, scored and drove in two runs.

Matthew Hazelwood singled, scored and had an RBI.

Adam Geller singled and scored in Friday’s win.

Up next: La Canada will host Temple City on Tuesday afternoon.
