Arcadia Secures 2-Game Sweep of Hoover; Apaches Defeat Tornados, 4-1, in Friday’s Pacific League Contest

Baseball:

Arcadia did what they were supposed to do on Friday.

The Apaches swept Hoover, thanks to a 4-1 victory.

Brandon Piehr got the loss for the Tornados.

Piehr went the distance and allowed four runs on seven hits.

He walked one and struck out two Arcadia batters.

Lance Wong, Devon Eskridge and Julian Gutierrez each doubled and scored for the Apaches.

Jerry Carlos had an RBI base hit and scored in the win.

Daniel Chavez singled in a run.

Chavez also went four scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Chavez allowed one hit, walked three and struck out five Hoover batters.

Nicholas Choy closed out the win, allowing one run on four hits over his three innings of work.

Choy walked one and struck out two.

Up next: The Apaches will host Muir on Tuesday afternoon.
