College Baseball:
Mt. SAC was looking for a second consecutive SCC victory over Long Beach City College on Thursday afternoon.
And things looked good early, as the Mounties scored three first-inning runs.
The Vikings, though, would strike for four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and ended up claiming a 7-5 victory in dramatic fashion.
LBCC defeated Mt. SAC, 7-5, thanks to a two-run, walk-off home run from Bryan Sanders.
Brian Park went the first 3 2/3 innings, and allowed four runs on four hits.
Park walked two and struck out one.
Damian Torres provided 2 1/3 scoreless and hitless innings of relief.
Torres walked one and fanned three.
LBCC would get one run off Trent Merrill and Cristian Enriquez surrendered the two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth with one out.
Evan Vazquez had an RBI double in the fifth inning to catch the Mounties at 3-3.
Moises Guzman went the first five innings for LBCC, allowing five runs on seven hits.
Guzman walked three and struck out four.
Reed Passmore got the win after three perfect innings of relief.
Passmore didn’t walk anyone and struck out four.
Blake Borgogno walked and his two-run triple in the first inning gave Mt. SAC a 3-0 lead.
Elijah Pelayo’s RBI double in the sixth gave the Mounties a 5-4 lead.
Art Ruiz had an RBI triple in the fifth inning.
Robbie Mansour singled twice and scored.
Cristian Enriquez singled home Brent Cota in the first.
Will Bermudez walked and scored twice.
