Baseball:
Travis Delgado didn’t have his best outing on the mound.
The Marshall Fundamental star senior allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits.
He walked three and fanned five over his five innings on Wednesday.
Delgado, however, sent the Eagles home winners, slugging a two-run, two-out, walk-off home run.
Marshall defeated Nogales, 7-6, to improve to 4-2.
Conrad Hunziker earned the win, going the final two innings and allowed one run on three hits.
Hunziker walked one and struck out three.
Michael Zabala doubled twice, scored two runs and had two RBIs for the Nobles.
Daniel Avena went 6 2/3 innings, allowing six runs (five earned) on seven hits.
He walked two and struck out four Marshall batters.
Jacob Ayala got the loss after allowing Delgado’s walk-off home run.
Nick Chew doubled, tripled, scored twice and drove in a pair of runs.
Delgado also singled and had four RBIs.
Jacob Hernandez had three singles and scored twice.
Devan Kelly doubled and scored.
Up next: Marshall travels to Lakewood on Saturday morning to battle Mayfair.
