Flintridge Prep Gets 4-3, Walk-Off Victory Over Poly to Open Prep League Action; Arther & Seid Dominate on Mound

What better way to beat your rival than a walk-off victory in the Prep League opener?

Flintridge Prep trailed 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Wolves, though, got two runs in the bottom of the sixth and one more in the seventh to clip Poly, 4-3, on Friday.

Adam Arther went five solid innings for the Panthers, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits.

Arther walked two and struck out 11.

Sam Howell was saddled with the loss, after allowing an unearned run on one hit.

JR Kully singled, tripled, scored and drove in a run for the Wolves.

Spencer Seid went 2-for-4, including the game winner.

Graham DesHotel singled twice and had an RBI.

Nick Gonzalez walked and scored twice, and Dominick Schraeder drove in a run on a sac fly.

Josh Beserra walked and scored in the win.

Seid went five scoreless innings, allowing three hits and striking out 10.

Brunngraber got the win, thanks to the late-inning scoring by the Wolves.

He was charged with three runs (one earned) on three hits.

Sean Asperger went 2-for-4 and scored.

Elliot Rowley walked, doubled and scored.

Adam Arther walked twice, singled, scored and had an RBI.

Since the game ended with one out in the bottom of the seventh, the Poly and Prep pitchers combined to get 40 outs, with 21 coming via strikeout, and all from Arther and Seid.

Up next: The Wolves will face La Quinta on Saturday morning.
