John Nolan Shuts Down La Serna Bats in Glendora’s 4-1 Victory; Tartans’ Junior Goes Six Innings & Strikes Out 8

Baseball:

John Nolan was both effective and efficient on Wednesday afternoon.

In six innings of work, the Glendora junior allowed just an unearned run on one hit.

He walked three and struck out eight La Serna batters in a 4-1 victory.

Matthew Moreno closed out the game by striking out the side.

Chase Bernal and Nick Allred had one single apiece to account for the Lancers’ offense.

Nick Williams was saddled with the loss.

Williams surrendered three runs (two earned) on seven hits.

He didn’t walk anyone and struck out four GHS batters in his 5 1/3 innings.

The Tartans got one run off Jacob Belt on two hits and a walk.

Joseph Gilkeson singled, doubled, scored and drove in a run.

Carson Mounce also singled, doubled and had one RBI.

Michael Moses singled twice for GHS.

Brady Baeza doubled and scored.

Shane Mion singled and scored and Matthew Moreno singled and drove in one run.

Up next: The Tartans will host the Lancers on Friday.
