Girls Volleyball:
You can’t get much closer to earning a spot in the CIF-SS title game than La Salle got.
The Lancers went to top-seeded Aliso Niguel in the D-2 semifinals and dropped a five setter.
The Wolverines won by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-12.
As they’ve done all season, Dani Thomas-Nathan and Ashley Li played remarkably.
Dani finished with 29 kills and nine digs.
And Ashley contributed 25 kills, four digs and two aces.
Mikayla Hsieh had 50 assists, eight digs and an ace.
Avery Ward chipped in with seven kills.
It is already expected that La Salle has earned a spot in the CIF State playoffs after reaching the CIF-SS semifinal round.
