And it did not come easy.

AHS claimed victory by scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-14, 22-25 and 18-16.

Ashley Savage had 15 kills and two blocks.

Olivia Ip added 10 kills and two blocks of her own.

Chayse Hoon contributed seven kills and 12 blocks.

Up next: Arcadia will host Burroughs in a first-place match on Tuesday afternoon.

Quotable:

Arcadia coach, Stephen Bernabe: “CV played a great game and taught us a lesson to never underestimate a team. Their coach runs a great program and it shows every year. This is a brutal game. I am beyond proud of how my girls came back down 6-14 in the 5th set to win it at 18-16. This will be our turning point in the season.”

Records: CV (10-9 overall, 4-2 in league); Arcadia (7-3, 7-0)
