Baseball:

To put in bluntly, South Hills looked every bit a first-place program in the Hacienda League, while Rowland occupies the league cellar.

Three South Hills pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout in Tuesday’s 17-0 victory in six innings.

Matthew Lorenzano went three innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.

Ethan Lee gave up a pair of hits and fanned two in his two innings of work.

And Dylan Esquival struck out the side to close out the victory.

At the plate, Marcos Rosales was a beast.

Rosales went 4-for-5, with a double, grand slam home run, scored three runs and had six RBIs.

Anthony Rasmussen walked, singled, scored twice and had an RBI.

Andrew Ramirez singled twice and scored three runs.

Josh Dinisi walked, singled twice and scored a pair of runs.

Kai Penuelas also walked, singled twice, had an RBI and two runs scored.

Evan Burns singled, doubled, drove in a pair of runs and scored once.

And Isaac Veazey-Chavez hit a solo shot in the win.

Up next: South Hills will host Rowland on Thursday.
