Baseball:
Marshall Fundamental’s Mission Valley League victory tour took the Eagles to El Monte High School on Friday.
The Eagles claimed a 12-3 victory and improved to 8-0 in league games.
Wes Pendleton got the win, going three innings and allowing three runs on four hits.
He walked one and struck out two.
Gabe Mabee has been nails on the mound all season, and he went three innings of scoreless and hitless relief.
Mabee didn’t walk anyone and struck out three.
Sam Karp closed out the victory with a scoreless and hitless seventh inning and striking out one.
Nomar Perez went 2-for-3, and drove in all three of El Monte’s runs.
Joseph Herrera walked, singled and scored two runs for the Lions.
On the mound, Herrera went four innings and allowed seven runs (one earned) on five hits.
He walked five and struck out four Marshall batters.
Jimmy Ruiz went the other three innings, and he surrendered five runs on five hits.
Ruiz walked two and struck out a pair.
Devan Kelly went 4-for-5, with two RBIs and he scored a pair of runs.
Alex Chew walked, doubled, scored and had two RBIs.
Travis Delgado tripled and had three RBIs.
Nick Chew walked twice, singled and scored a pair of runs.
Max Stukel walked, doubled, scored and drove in a run.
Jacob Hernandez singled, tripled, scored twice and drove in a run.
Gabe Mabee walked, singled, had an RBI and scored twice.
Ethan Meyers walked and scored.
Up next: Marshall will travel to Rosemead High on Wednesday at 3:15.
