Claremont Defeats Bonita, 3-1, in Palomares League Pitchers Duel; Edrian Rangel Strikes Out 12 for Bearcats

It might seem odd to read that the losing pitcher in Claremont’s 3-1 victory over Bonita was a guy that struck out 12 batters, but that’s exactly what happened.

Edrian Rangel went all seven innings for the Bearcats, allowing three runs on four hits.

He walked two and struck out a dozen Wolfpack batters.

Adam Aguirre walked, scored twice and hit a solo home run.

Jacob Klinovsky had a two-run double and Justin Gonzalez walked and scored.

Gavin Eddy went the first 3 2/3 innings and allowed one run on five hits.

He walked one and fanned four.

Max Suckley was credited with the win after going the final 3 1/3 scoreless innings, and allowing two hits, walking three and fanning a pair.

Ryan Kozma walked and had an RBI single for Bonita.

Devon Diaz singled twice and Jordan Sheridan walked twice and singled.

Logan Corthell singled twice and scored and Luke Mistone doubled.

The loss drops the Bearcats into a tie with Glendora for third place in the Palomares League.

Up next: Bonita will travel to Claremont on Friday to finish their two-game series with the Wolfpack.
