Baseball:
Glendora needed to snap its four-game skid in the worst way on Friday.
Three of the four losses came in Palomares League games and they found themselves ahead of just last-place Colony in the league standings.
It took two extra innings, but GHS defeated Alta Loma, 9-1, after scoring eight runs in the top of the ninth inning.
Don Lugo transfer, Johnnie Valdez, made his first start after sitting out the 30 days, and made a huge contribution.
Valdez went seven innings, allowing just an unearned run and scattering six hits.
He walked one and struck out 10 Alta Loma batters.
Michael Moses got the win after two scoreless innings and striking out three.
Michael Carreon and David Gonzalez had two hits apiece for the Braves.
Christian Lopez went the first 8 1/3 innings for Alta Loma and allowed three runs on six hits.
He walked three and struck out four GHS batters.
Dominic Gravina was charged with six runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk over his 2/3 inning of work.
Braydon Wooldridge had two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and a run.
Michael Moses singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in a run.
Troy Estrada walked, doubled, scored and had two RBIs and Shane Mion had a two-run base hit.
Charlie Peralta singled, scored and drove in two runs.
Jeff Isenhart walked and scored.
