Just when it looked like this record-breaking season was finally coming to an end, Rancho Cucamonga stages yet another dramatic victory.
The Cougars trailed 4-1 in the bottom of the fifth and 6-5 in the final frame.
But RCHS would get four fifth-inning runs and two more in the seventh to defeat Cajon, 7-6, in the first round of the CIF State Division 4 playoffs.
Nick Sanchez got the win after going the final two innings and allowing two runs on three hits.
Sanchez didn’t walk anyone and struck out one.
Nicolas Cataldo did a great job for the Cougars, allowing two unearned runs over his 4 1/3 innings of work.
Cristian Leos walked, singled, doubled and scored twice for the Cowboys.
Junior Burks walked, singled, doubled, had an RBI and scored three runs.
Ty Thomas walked and had an RBI single in the loss.
Sebastian Flores was stuck with the loss after surrendering two runs on four hits and a walk over his 2 2/3 innings.
Jonathan Manuel singled, doubled, scored and drove in two runs.
Michael Woodward walked twice, doubled and scored three runs.
Bradyn France singled, doubled and drove in four runs.
Josh Farner singled twice and drove in the game-winning run.
Jayden Lopez walked and scored.
Jacob McCombs walked three times, singled, and scored two runs.
