Baseball:

Roc Riggio isn’t going to win any popularity contests at San Dimas High School.

The Thousand Oaks slugger walked, homered three times and drove in six runs in the Lancers 12-1 thumping of the Saints in the D-2 quarterfinals.

Matt Romero went five innings and was charged with six runs on 10 hits.

He walked one and struck out two.

Three of Thousand Oak’s four home runs came off the Saints junior.

Charlie Saum walked twice, singled, homered and drove in three runs.

Peyton Miller walked, singled and scored three runs.

Max Muncy walked, singled twice, doubled, scored and drove in a run.

Myles Weiss got the win for the Lancers, allowing one run on seven hits over his five innings of work.

He walked two and struck out three SDHS batters.

Kasen Khansarinia singled and scored.

Paul Vasquez had an RBI base hit.

Robert Castillo, Landon White, Tyler Pardus and Rocco Regan each singled once for the Valle Vista League champions.

Ryan Kim finished his career going 2-for-4.

It certainly wasn’t the way San Dimas wanted its season to end, but this team is really young and the immediate future is very bright.
