What a difference 48 hours can make.
On Wednesday night, Ayala suffered a disappointing three-point loss at Claremont.
It was the first Palomares League victory for the Wolfpack.
Fast forward to Friday, and the Bulldogs secured a 75-69 victory at Bonita to pull to within one-game of first-place Walnut.
Ayala went on a 44-35 run in the second half.
It was a shootout between AHS’ Brenden White and BHS’ James Kim.
White finished with a game-high 31 points, including a 6-of-8 effort from the free-throw line.
White scored 14 of the Bulldogs’ 25 third-quarter points.
Paul Christian and Kyle Chang chipped in with nine points apiece.
And Isaiah Dolloso added eight points in the win.
James Kim led Bonita with 29 points, including a pair of 3’s.
Kim scored seven points or more in the first, third and fourth quarters.
He went 3-of-5 from the free-throw line.
Beau Rudometkin produced 14 points.
Brayden Henderson finished with 10 points in the loss.
