Boys Hoops:
Ayala jumped on Diamond Bar early in Friday’s Palomares League showdown at AHS.
The Bulldogs took a 25-9 lead in the first eight minutes.
DBHS outscored AHS 55-42 the rest of the way, however, Ayala held on for a 67-64 victory.
Through the first three games of the Palomares League chase, the Bulldogs are in a first-place tie with Glendora, Bonita and Walnut.
Brenden White led Ayala with 26 points.
White scored at least five points in each of the four quarter.
Joshua Townsell scored all of his seven points in that 25-point first quarter surge.
Paul Christian added seven points of his own.
Diamond Bar’s Jedison Chow led all scorers with 31 points.
Chow scored 24 of those 31 points in the second half during the Brahmas run.
Ezekiel Alegado hit four 3-pointers, and he finished with 14 points.
Jacob Kim contributed 13 points in the loss.
Up next: The Bulldogs travel to winless (in league) Claremont on Wednesday evening at 6:30.
