Tressa Beatty Scores 16 Points & Reaches 1,000-Point Plateau in Bonita’s 41-24 Palomares League Victory Over Walnut

Girls Hoops:

Bonita improved to 2-1 in Palomares League play after Friday’s 41-24 victory over their visitors from Walnut.

Two-sport star Tressa Beatty made history.

The BHS quarterback and point guard led all scorers with 16 points, including an 8-of-12 effort from the free-throw line.

Beatty surpassed the 1,000-point plateau for her career at the La Verne school.

Kyra Amaya scored all of her 10 points in the second half.

Jenna Campbell chipped in with eight points, and Malei’a Reaves had five points in the win.

Jada Jao led Walnut with 10 points.

Jao was 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.

Madison Shih provided seven points for the Mustangs, and Elissa He hit a pair of 3-pointers to chip in with six points in the loss.

Up next: The Bearcats travel to first-place Glendora on Wednesday at 5.
